Network
Our servers are located in the Global Switch 1 Datacentre
in London, UK. This Datacentre is connected through dual
GigE fiber lines to both Telehouse North and East, the two
buildings that comprise the London INternet eXchange
(LINX). Our connections to Internet backbones are operated
25 major networks, providing unsurpassed levels of
bandwidth availability.*
Hardware
Currently all websites run on branded 2.0Ghz Rack-mounted
servers, each of which is connected to the network via high
quality Cisco switching equipment. Each server is equipped
with a UPS backup to keep it operational in the event of a
power failure, and there is an on-site generator to both
power our servers and recharge our UPS devices in the event
of long-term power outages.
Each server is equipped with multiple hard-disk backups, with an automatic backup being made every day. In the event of a disk failure, all backups can be immediately be re-loaded onto a spare disk to get your website back online with the minimum downtime. In the event of total hardware failure, we have enough spare capacity to spread our website backups across different servers, to minimise your downtime while we either repair or replace a faulty server.
